If you are a regular user of SMSexperience, you must have noticed over time that messages sent to MTN numbers don’t get delivered. Although prior to this issue, messages sent using SMSexperience delivers to all networks anytime, anywhere in Nigeria.
The non-delivery to MTN numbers on our platform was actually due to the measures put in place by MTN as regards sending bulk SMS which was why messages could not deliver to the network. We have been working tirelessly to resolve the issue for the benefit of our resellers and end-users. In this article, we have detailed what you need to do as an SMSexperience end-user or reseller to have your messages delivering to MTN numbers again:
Set-up the new feature
In line with the new requirements by MTN, you would have to register your Sender ID(s) with MTN before your messages can be delivered to MTN numbers.
To register your Sender ID(s), simply send your username and preferred Sender ID to our email address, email@example.com. If you are a reseller, you would need to log into your SMSexperience account to complete this registration. The registration is a one-time process that would take between 24-72 hours to complete. Once completes, you can start sending bulk SMS to MTN numbers again
To confirm if your Sender ID has been successfully registered, simply send a message with the Sender ID to an MTN phone number (or few other MTN numbers) near you to confirm delivery. If the message delivers, the sender ID has been successfully registered. However, note that the MTN number(s) used should not be DND numbers as messages would not deliver to these.
